DAY 2 MNFF 2026

Thursday 12 November, is packed with cinematic curiosities, local stories, cult classics, and a little bit of the unexpected.

Start your day in NAC’s Microcinema with Panorama Ephemera, a collection of archival and ephemeral films exploring the often-conflicted landscapes and mythologies of twentieth-century America. In the evening, join us for a special Book Launch + Screening celebrating Barry Grant’s new book Peter Jackson: Film Authorship in a Global Hollywood, followed by Forgotten Silver, Jackson’s infamous 1995 mockumentary and one of New Zealand’s most notorious media hoaxes.

Over at Landmark Cinemas (Pen Centre), catch Gina, a wild and twisted Canadian cult classic starring Céline Lomez, where a snowbound gang of Ski-Doo-riding miscreants gets more than it bargained for. Meanwhile, Tidal Surges #2 takes over The Film House, bringing together a fresh collection of short films by local and regional filmmakers exploring unexpected stories, images and ideas.

Head to The Bank Art House for Carry Me Home | Songs from Niagara, a music documentary celebrating ten original Niagara songwriters and the local venues and businesses that help keep our music scene alive.

Back at NAC, experience The Lonely Child Project, an extraordinary fusion of contemporary music, theatre, dance and circus inspired by composer Claude Vivier.

And if you still have some cinematic curiosity left, we've got you covered. The Mini Mighty Niagara Film Fest returns with its celebration of ten-second films that prove you don't need much time to make a big impression, followed by Reality Frictions, a late-night exploration of the strange and fascinating moments when real life collides with Hollywood fiction.

And this is JUST day two!
