This exhibition features artworks created by graduating students in the 4F06 capstone class at Brock University. The title refers to the range of artistic practices, worldviews, and concepts that the students have experimented with, both academically and creatively. While their works may differ in appearance or intention, they are united through the pursuit of seeing the world in new and unexpected ways.

Rose Clark addresses isolation and the nature of perception through night photography. Neeka-Lynn DeVries magnifies biological material to reveal the fascinating structures of everyday things. Hannah Elizabeth’s dreamscapes investigate personal history as a source of strength for others. Mia Ellis draws on the horror genre to probe the depths of human fears and vulnerability. Through the lens of characters, Eddie Flatman explores queer identity and selfhood. Rowan Huang examines the dynamics of family connection and ancestral heritage. Jennifer Jankowski also turns to relationships, but as a means of illustrating themes of impermanence and transformation. Sydney Patten scrutinizes the meaning of house and home through a series of miniatures that recall core memories. Krit Sekhon’s ties to India sparks a study of cultural identity, immigration experience, and diaspora. Adam Wiebe’s work seeks difficult truths through humour and the uncanny.
The window in Through A Window is the studio itself, a site of scholarly and creative pursuits, of innovation and transformation, which is evident in the work before us.
