TeleVisions is a multimedia experiment designed for chasing something truly random. A wall of CRT televisions, each displaying a random design, and constantly changing. Some screens may sync up here and there, but the entire video wall could potentially synchronize with a unified design. Featuring timelapse footage from around our fair Garden City, plus commercials, infomercials and test screens from a bygone era, you never know what you’ll be tuning in to. Will you witness an actual one-in-a-million event? Only time will tell.
This installation is part of the Mighty Niagara Film Fest and is supported by the Department of Canadian Heritage,
Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage fund.

My name is Joseph Gottli ― you can call me Joe ― and I try to make the art I want to see in the world.
Comics, posters, pennants, chalkboard murals, woodworking, tinkering with retro tech, and more. If something sparks my imagination, I want to learn how to make it myself. As a result, I’ve accrued a wide variety of skills to take on almost any project.
I try to strike a balance between large-scale art installations, and smaller works. My installations have been featured numerous times at the In The Soil festival, and by the Niagara Artists Centre. Additionally, my smaller works have been displayed at Mahtay Cafe in St. Catharines, Black Sheep Coffee Roasters in Welland, and Third Space Cafe in Niagara Falls.
I’m an avid participant in the Niagara artist market scene, and credit my close friendships and collaboration with the artists and makers within for my inspiration and artistic growth.
I try to make something every day ― drawing, painting, sewing, woodworking, or simply planning out new projects to take on. Getting involved with the art community in St. Catharines is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I hope to continue pushing my art forward into new and exciting areas for as long as possible.
