Shared Weather

Shared Weather transforms the Plate Glass Gallery into a landscape of hand-built paper vessels and suspended raindrop forms created from recycled and repurposed paper materials. Across three windows, colourful papier-mâché vessels are accompanied by cascading raindrops, including screen-printed elements that catch and reflect changing light throughout the day. While each form is unique in shape, colour, and character, together they reflect the diverse experiences that shape our lives. Inspired by the idea that while our experiences are different, we all move through periods of joy, loss, growth, and uncertainty, Shared Weather explores connection, resilience, and the ways we support one another through change. Through the transformation of discarded materials into objects of reflection and beauty, the installation speaks to renewal, adaptability, and the possibility of growth.

Mackenzie Browning is an Ontario-based visual artist working in sculpture, installation, printmaking, and book arts. Using recycled and repurposed materials, his work explores themes of transformation, care, resilience, and renewal. Browning's work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally and is held in numerous public and private collections.
