In his latest series of paintings, Connor Smith invites viewers to embark on a journey through a reimagined natural world. Drawing inspiration from the majestic landscapes of his current home near the Niagara region, as well as the mountain ranges of the Canadian west coast where Smith commonly travels too, Smith channels these diverse influences into a realm where imagination reigns supreme.
Smith’s work flows through traditional landscape painting by merging the tangible with the fantastical. The result is an abstracted portrayal of nature that feels both familiar and otherworldly. Through distinctive brushwork technique, Smith creates paintings that vibrate with energy, as though the landscapes are alive with their own rhythm and pulse.
