Little Creatures

Little Creatures is a collaborative series born from a shared desire to let go of rigid planning and embrace spontaneity in the creative process. As longtime friends and artists, we set out to explore what could emerge when we paint side by side—working independently, yet in conversation through the surface itself.

These three paintings are part of an ongoing experiment to invite the unconscious imagination to take the lead. With minimal verbal communication during the act of painting itself, we allow intuition, play, and uncertainty to guide the work. The resulting compositions are lively and dreamlike—populated by sketchbook fragments, strange figures, and curious forms that feel as though they’ve wandered in from the edges of memory.

The Little Creatures paintings will be on view at the Niagara Artists Centre from August 9th to the 30th, alongside three individual works by each of us. This juxtaposition highlights both our shared creative chemistry and our spirit for all things weird.
