“It’s mine! You bitch!” CYRK-(US) IMAGES BY EVERGON’S CELLULOSO FABULOSO MAXIMUS III

This large-scale visual spectacle delivers a lollapalooza of images that stretch across decades of fearless innovation, from Evergon’s early collages and Xerox works of the 1970s through to electrifying new AI-driven creations. Expect the whimsical, the theatrical, and the unapologetically provocative—because, as Evergon himself declares: “Some of you may not be offended by these works!”

Visitors will first encounter an entrance corridor of works from 1970–2023, lyrical and whimsical explorations in collage, photography, and experimentation. Inside the main gallery, CYRK-(US) takes center stage—upscaled AI-generated images that blur perfection and fiction, imperfection and reality.

Created in collaboration with Anthony Bourgeois (Stable Diffusion), Chris Boyne, and Caroline Savaria, the project was supported by CALQ and the Paul-Émile Borduas Prize (Quebec).

About Evergon

Born in Niagara Falls and now based in Montreal, Evergon has forged a career merging technical mastery with deeply personal and unapologetically queer subject matter. His body of work spans cyanotype, gum bichromate, holography, photocollage, and monumental Polaroid photography, all reframing themes of desire, memory, and identity.

He has exhibited widely in Canada and abroad, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Polaroid Corporation, and the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art. As a teacher at the University of Ottawa and Concordia University, Evergon influenced generations of artists with his experimental, hands-on approach. In 2024, he was inducted into the Niagara Falls Wall of Fame.
