Drawing in Space

An important feature of these sculptures is that they are modular and so they can be combined together in many different configurations. The large sculpture featured in this exhibition, fabricated out of marine plywood and painted black, is a combination of JIV JAZ and JOV.

TONY CALZETTA has exhibited continually in solo and group exhibitions for nearly 50 years and is represented in public and private collections in Canada, the US and Europe. He works mainly on canvas and paper and occasionally in sculpture, printmaking and livres d’artiste. In his artist statement he writes, “My work is about drawing. The drawing is about images that are composed of shapes and forms constantly evolving from a highly personal visual vocabulary which started with subconscious doodling and automatic drawing and later from more conscience visual influences.”
