Rod Standish and The Outlaws of Sherwood

Rod Standish is a lifelong musician. He has been playing guitar since he was 10 years old. He has performed in numerous local bands on several different instruments. He has written and recorded hundreds of songs on dozens of albums. He is still actively writing and recording. 

He toured North America as lead guitar player for the Roger Marin Band. In 2007 he broke the Guinness Book World Record for longest guitar marathon by playing 58 ½ hours consecutively. In 2009 he walked across Canada with his guitar. In 2012 he released a double vinyl record called The Walk and played a 100-hour live stream event to promote it. In the subsequent years he organized and performed a concert series that covered 38 different albums in their entirety. He helped to organize a 24 hour a day live stream event during the pandemic called “Jam In Perpetuity” that featured many local artists, and in which Rod performed for long periods of time. 

Rod has been musical director for 4 different musicals produced by Linus Hand Productions. He also performed the role of Joseph in the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and the role of the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. He has a classic thrash metal project called Evil Monster, a funk bass project called Rodzilla. 

He is joined by his partner Melody VanSchaik on bass, Carl David Onofrio on piano and guitar, and Jeff Saylor on drums to perform as Rod Standish and the Outlaws of Sherwood.
