Joe Lapinski writes cinematic folk songs for the golden hour - earthy, intimate music filled with worn-in textures, vivid storytelling, and a sense of quiet wonder. Based in St. Catharines, Ontario, he has spent more than 25 years weaving through Canada’s independent music scene as a songwriter, performer, and producer, sharing stages with artists including Daniel Lanois, Rheostatics, Arcade Fire, and Great Lake Swimmers.
His latest album, "New Day" (2025), co-produced with Dave Clark (Rheostatics, Gord Downie’s Country of Miracles), drifts between lyrical vulnerability and expansive sonic landscapes, featuring collaborators from Minuscule and Sisters Euclid. In a solo setting, Lapinski’s songs feel close and lived-in - part campfire glow, part late-night cinema - carried by fingerpicked guitars, honest storytelling, and a voice that invites listeners into something deeply human, tender, and timeless.
