Night Falls Noise Floats will present video work produced in the last three years, underpinned by an investigation of the codes of horror film: the bloody death, the spectral, the subject reduced to automaton. These culturally imagined and half-remembered narratives are retold using a variety of strategies that include the re-shooting and editing of stock footage, home-made documentary film, b-movie effects, and cheap melodrama. In emphasizing the performative and the material, the work aims at the moment that fantasy joins the real and the ridiculous becomes sublime.
